A special project full of heirloom surprises and research into 9 generations of 1 family. And it all began with a hairwork album found in a dresser drawer of their family home. The hair dates back to 1850s when it was woven by Olivia Ellis, the great great aunt of the woman who now owns it.
Since the album was in pieces, she commissioned me to designed a large framed wall hanging to tell the family story and preserve the precious locks. I also did new table-braided hairwork for her grandmother, herself and her granddaughter.
